Because of knee (deformed bones), back (nerve damage and over flexible spine) and lung (asthma) problems, I'm doing the Couch25K program extremely modified. It will take a lot longer than the 10 weeks the program normally takes cause I have to up myself very slowly.
After trying to kill myself at my old 15% incline, I adjusted the treadmill to level and no longer threaten to fall off.
Week 1: 5 mins walking 3mph, 2 mins running 5mph, 5 mins walking 3mph, 2 mins running 5mph, 6 mins walking 3mph. Total - 20 mins (16 mins walking, 4 mins running)
Week 2: 5 mins walking 3mph, 2 mins running 5mph, 5 mins walking 3mph, 2 mins running 5mph, 6 mins walking 3 mph, 2 mins running 5mph, 8 mins walking 3mph. Total - 30 mins (24 mins walking, 5 mins running)
Just a (mostly) daily rambling of our little lives. My own little space on the Net for a diary.

C25K
Last night I was treadmilling (my own word) while watching the hockey game. I figured, if I'm gonna be doing this triathlon with Brianna, I gotta start running somewhere. In 40 mins, I threw in 3 1 minute runs. Not bad. It was hard, but do-able. My treadmill IS still set at the 15% incline, so that probably had something to do with it.
This morning, a friend of mine suggests that I try the Couch to 5K program (C25K). Looks easy enough, starts out walking 5 minutes, run 2, walk 5. Actually looks too little with the fact that I've been walking 30-60 minutes. So I figure I'll add another run 2 walk 5 to it.
WOW! I can NOT do it. I made it to about 1 min 20 sec for running. I think the problem is the 15% incline. After talking to some running friends, I'll drop the incline to level and should have a much easier time. I'll probably be able to speed up my regular walking too.
