Camera FOUND!

Woooooo! Special thanks to my mommy for finding the camera! It's been missing since Christmas when we went to Grandma Hart's for dinner and couldn't find it to take pics. Turns out it was under the driver's seat in the car! Eeek! That much cold (3 days of -30C and colder) CAN'T be good for electronics! So I sat on it for like an hour lol Thankfully, it still works!!!

Now the problem is having a computer I can use it with. This ooooold laptop doesn't have any kind of picture viewing program. Hopefully my BIL is able to fix my computer and I'll be good to go and be able to post pics on my blogs again!

And the Bad Continued til Today....

Today I posted a gain :( Back up to 191.4lbs *cry* I'm now very excited for this foot of snow we're supposed to get just so I can get a free workout in! I did do a 1 hour trek to Walmart and back. Speed was necessary as it was freaking cold!

30 day Challenge

Weird Things You Do When You're Alone.

Hm.... Well lately it's dreaming of having an actual school room and decorating it all school like with those fancy boarders and posters for learning. I have a catalog from my favorite teacher store that I've been marking up like crazy.

That's not really weird though, just crazy obsessive. I can't really think of anything I do that's weird (well, weird to me, I'm sure I do lots of stuff that's weird to other people lol)

30 day Challenge

I friend of mine posted this on on of her blogs and it looks like fun! Even if she doesn't want me copying her, I'm doing it anyways lol Since February's an odd month, we'll start today and end March 1st.

The Day That Went From Bad To Worse

I should have just stayed in bed!

1) Woke up still with my head cold, but now with an annoying dry cough.
2) Sent myself into fits of allergy hell by digging out my desk to give my BIL my computer tower to try to fix.
3) My niece came over for me to watch while above mentioned BIL went to pick up my sister. Love the kid. However, she seemed to had bathed in perfume this morning, one which I apparently am highly allergic to.
4) After putting a fresh loaf of bread in the oven I am cleaning up my bread making mess and lean myself on the stove to put the flour away, directly onto the hot burner I just took a pot of boiling water off of, burning a giant hole in my favorite sweater.

Now I'm gonna do what I should have done first thing... go to bed!

Ugh.... Sick

Went to bed last night feeling funny. Sure enough, I woke up this morning with full sinuses *sigh*

On a brighter note! I'm down to 189.6 which means down 2.4lbs since last Wednesday! Woooooooooooo!

Warmer Temps Finally

Brianna finally got some much wished for outside time today for the first time in 3 days. It's been -30C or so, so there was no way I was letting her play out there! Today it actually went up to -11C so her and the neighbour's daughter played in the snow.

It also snowed so I got a free workout in *by free I mean it has to be done. I can't just excuse my way out of shoveling, we need the driveway*

Last night I tried to knock myself off via the treadmill. I keep thinking 3mph isn't fast... until I try to walk it for more than 5 minutes. I gave up and did 30 mins at 2.5mph then dropped to 2mph for another 30 mins. I was gonna do my Walk Off The Pounds program, but found a show I wanted to watch while walking.

Today was a great day food-wise. I ate my normal bagel for breakfast and spent the rest of the day filling up on veggies. For lunch I made an omelet with only 2 eggs (as opposed to 4+) and about 2-3 cups of veggies. It didn't stay together well but it was freaking yummy! For supper I had another zillion pounds of veggies with 1 1/2 cups of pasta (rather than just zillions of pounds of pasta).

Weigh In #2

Well I got to my full pound. Weigh in today was down .4lbs down to 191.2lbs.

Blah

It was just a crap weekend all over. My diet sucked. I drank next to zero water. Forgot to track calories until it was to the point that I forgot what I ate. Brianna was an ass. Olivia was super whiny/clingy. Blah.

I do plan to start my Walk the Pounds off videos tomorrow. I so need a new VCR! I'm not looking forward to watching the video through "snow".

Weigh In #1

Dropped .6lbs for weigh in this morning. Booooo I was hoping for an even pound for water weight. Hoping that .4lb is gone by Monday!

Water Bloat!

Holy crap, the day's not even over yet and I'm already at 112oz of water. I feel like I'm swimming lol

New coffee trick! Bought some flavoured coffee today. Discovered that with flavoured coffee I can keep topping off the cup with black coffee even longer. Obviously it's the flavour I'm going for. So now, it's really just when the sugar from the creamer runs out. Wooo! Rather than (not lying) at least a CUP AND A HALF of creamer a day, I'm down to about 1/2 cup for the same amount of coffee (about 3 pots). Yay me!

Didn't do terrible on calories. I did go over, but by only a little over 100. I knew my scalloped potatoes would kill me lol

End of day 1

So today didn't go as bad as I thought it might.

I consumed 1622 calories which is over my suggested calorie intake by 85 calories BUT I also burnt 785 calories by scraping the ice off the driveway.

I went back to my go-to-the-bathroom-drink-water plan and drank 56oz of water that way (and will have another 8oz before I go to bed). I probably should be drinking more but slow and steady right?

I've decided not to track my coffee intake since a cup is a measly 2 calories and I drink so much of it it's a pain to track each one. What I'm doing instead is tracking my creamer intake. I've also consciously cut down on that. Since I don't drink coffee very fast, a lot of my day is just topping up my cup. So I've done it that I make a normal cup of coffee with my normal creamer, then just adding black coffee until I can't stand the taste anymore. Only then am I adding more creamer.

All in all, a pretty good day. Well see how much water weight is dumped off by Friday's weigh in (since I'm going back to my old Fri/Mon weigh ins)

I find it funny that my longest paragraph here is about coffee lol

Day 1

Day 1 of a weight loss plan is always painful. It's the day you step on the scale to see how much you suck. Today I sucked enough to have gained over 10lbs since October. Yup, I suck. I was down to 181.4lbs at my last weigh in, today I was at 192.2lbs. *cry*

On a bright side, I did find out that shoveling snow is great exercise and burns lots of calories. Here's hoping we get several feet of snow before spring comes! Another good note. Brianna was asking today when we were going to do more "gym class" type stuff like hiking/running/ect... So that means even after the snow is gone, I should still be getting off my ass.

Today I discovered the nice cheap bagels I bought are over 500 cals a piece *cry* Guess I'm going back to the expensive Weight Watchers bagels. At least they were only 150 cals. I'm also rediscovering my cup-o-soup pouches. While they are pretty high in sodium (never something I've had a problem with so not terribly worried), 2 pouches is just over 100 cals and fills me up. Chances are, this will be my lunch quite often!

Now to figure out supper. I am a BIG lover of comfort food. That sucks. Comfort food usually has 486,935 calories per serving *sigh*

My first long term goal is to be down 25lbs by Olivia's birthday (so 167lbs). My first short term goal is to be 185lbs by my birthday (so down 7.2lbs). I worry more about the short term goal than the long term one.

New (to us) Appliances

These are probably the newest appliances I've ever owned lol

Lee's ex-wife called a few days ago to see if we were still looking for a washer and dryer. Well, they may not work *great* by my washer and dry *were* still working. Anything's better than the laundry mat. Well she said that her husband bought new front loaders (supposedly better in the country with a septic tank) and she wanted to give us her old (5 yrs) set.

Hell yes! Free is my friend :)

Tested out the washer tonight. It's a super capacity so I was able to stuff more than Lee's work clothes into one load. And it's so quiet! And didn't dance across my kitchen! Woooooo!

We didn't try out the dryer though since we dry majority of our clothes on the dry rack in the living room. Especially if it's only one load. When I do 2+ loads over the weekend all the jeans and little things will get to test out the new dryer.

Lifestyle Changes

I've decided that my new diet lifestyle change will start on the 19th. Olivia's 18 mth birthday. My first long term goal is to drop 25lbs by her birthday. At 24 weeks to go that barely over a pound a week. Doable right? HA!

The first 5lbs will fly off simply by water weight. Not only have I not been drinking my water, but I haven't gotten off my ass in over a month. I can see that first 5lbs off before 2 weeks are gone.

The next 5lbs should still relatively fall off quickly. Just tracking my food portions and not snacking will take care of that. Those should go in another 2-3 weeks.

The remaining 15lbs will hang on for dear life and I'll have to threaten anorexia on them for them to even start looking like they're gonna go away. Unfortunately my fat knows I love food waaaaaay to much to go close to anorexia so it'll probably take me until July 18th to come even close to my 25lbs goal.

Now, I guess to start I'll have to dust off the scale.....

Toaster Ovens Rock!

So I took the advice of a friend and found a toaster oven that would fit my bread pan (it also fits a 8in square pan so I can make smaller casseroles too). Such a life saver! I'm back in the bread business!

While completely without baking capabilities I used my breadmaker as it was intended... to bake bread. I didn't like how the loaves were formed, kinda like a cube. One sandwich was about the size of 2 since the bread cube was so large! I did find a yummy recipe though that I'll have to try in the oven/toaster oven.

Lee is of course thrilled since he had been bugging me for a while to buy one, but I didn't see the point since we had a perfectly good oven.....

I'm curious to see my electric bill next month. While I am still using the stove part, the toaster oven says it uses 68% less energy than a regular oven. If my bill is noticeably lower I think I'll keep using the toaster oven unless I need the larger size of the regular oven!

New Year, New Goals

I've always hated New Year's Resolutions but I love goals and lists and challenges. Today I started 101 in 1001. This one I didn't sign up for formally (the official site is down, so I'm doing it on my own), but it looks like fun and was quite challenging to come up with my list. I was going to post my list on this and my homeschooling blog but thought it would be easier to make a separate blog for it and just link it to my existing ones.

I also signed up for a reading challenge (for me? super easy!). That one I've signed up for through my homeschooling blog so head over there if you wanna follow along or sign up yourself!

Door Mat Parents

A friend of mine pointed me to a blog that rubbed me the wrong way. I read both the post the link took me to and the previous one that "caused" the author to write the linked one. I can TOTALLY see the humour in the posts, but the blog read to me that BECAUSE toddler behaviour is normal, we as parents should just sit back and let our toddlers/preschoolers, hell, teens, do whatever, because their behaviour is normal for their ages.

And yes, I'm betting the author DOESN'T just sit there and smile while her child pisses on the floor, but it reads like she does. Unfortunately I see this too often. Parents that just let their kids do whatever. This was one of the reason I pulled Brianna out of school to homeschool her. Cause a lot of parents don't give a crap anymore! They don't raise their kids, they let other kids do it or the media. There is no more teaching of manners, courtesy or appropriate behaviour. It's just easier to tell them to go play.

I could go on and on about this topic, but in this day and age it's like beating a dead horse.

It's Official

The oven is dead. I bought a new element, tried it out, took almost an hour to heat to just 250F. Should take less than 5 to get to 350! Now I need to find a new stove *sigh*

Stupid Oven

My element blew again. I've had this oven 4 years, am now gonna replace it for the second time. I've never in my life had to replace an element (the inside the oven bottom one) before this oven. POS However, I need a new fridge and only want a new oven. Short of this stupid element, the oven works fine. My fridge on the other hand is wonky.

I discovered this by making bread. I had run the dough through the breadmaker, did it's 2nd rise and was preheating the oven to bake it. 10 minutes later the oven is only reading 120F! Crap.... So I turned it off, waited for it to cool and checked it out. The top element is slightly warm, the bottom one? COLD! Unscrew it, yup, one of the prong thingies is black. Fried. *sigh*

It's Sunday night... hmmm.... maaaaaybe Canadian tire is open. Drive up there, nope, closed. Sears sells ovens.... nope, closed. Well I don't know if Zellers sells ovens, but they do sell larger appliances so maybe... they're open, no elements. *siiiiiiigh* Drive to the other end of town to Home Depot. They DO sell elements, but at over $30! The one I bought from Canadian tire was under $20 so I only brought $20 with me *cry* I'll have to wait til tomorrow to go to Canadian Tire.

Thankfully my next door neighbour was home so I borrowed her oven for a half hour so at least I didn't have to toss the dough (which thankfully hadn't dropped by the time I got home!). First thing tomorrow... element shopping!

Merry Christmas/Happy New Year!

Toys R Us puked in my living room and I could barely stay up to watch the ball drop. The basic summary of Christmas and New Year at my house! We've had a pretty good holiday but because of Olivia's age the tree came down early and now my house looks sad :(

Now of course, it's the new year and that means another attempt at "The Diet". I have no set start date because I have no will power so I want all the junk in my house eaten before I even try. I haven't even stepped on the scale yet cause it scares me.
