Which never happens. My and both girls could be sick as dogs and Lee'll be perfectly fine. Well last night he started getting sick. We think it was the frozen strawberries left in the fridge for too long that he ate. So he's off work today. Olivia and Brianna think it's great that he's home but of course he's just lounging on the couch.
Gotta get the last of the birthday shopping done today!!!
Just a (mostly) daily rambling of our little lives. My own little space on the Net for a diary.

Slight Break in the Heat
Instead of it being 45C, it's 35-40C. Not much, but something. I've taken to taking cold showers every afternoon at the peak heat. Poor Olivia's been running around and sleeping in nothing but a onsie. Brianna's in the pool for hours a day. Lee's finally getting some relief at work. As of tomorrow he's allowed to wear shorts to work! YAY! I'd die if I had to wear jeans like he always has.
Isaac's birthday is coming up on Friday and Olivia's in Monday. We're having a big birthday visit this weekend. That reminds me... I need blue icing dye for his cake! We've had some RSVPs for Olivia's birthday, but Lee's still worried most of his family won't show up.
Olivia's been sick. She just got over Roseola and a fever of 105F and now she's got some kind of stomach bug, poor baby. She's not really eating, but thankfully she's still drinking/nursing a lot. Brianna's got some random cough but nothing else.

OMG The Heat!!!
We are going through a massive heat wave. I hate it! We have had the air conditioner running on full blast since Saturday and it seems like we don't have one at all :( It's been about 45C (115F for my American friends) all week. We're expecting storms this afternoon to break it up but while the sky looks threatening, it aint doing anything. I think we're gonna spend the weekend at the beach!

Brianna's 8th Birthday!
Happy Birthday Brianna!
Her birthday was this past Monday and we had her party on Sunday. She had a blast! We had a great turn out of her friends and her cousins, Kyle and Tanya, were finally able to make it since they now live in town!
Sunday was the start of a massive heat wave in the area so we set up the pool for the kids. Brianna's guests weren't even here yet and she was asking to go in it! As soon as lunch was done we set them loose. Lee thought up this great scheme that me and mom would "plot" with the kids to get them to throw Lee in the pool. The kids thought this was a wonderful idea and of course Lee pretended to know nothing about it.
She was so happy with her gifts. Her favorites were some craft sets from her friend Lyric, the Zhu Zhu baby that Auntie Lisa got her, the baby skateboard Lee and I bought and the *real* baseball

Happy Canada Day!
yesterday.....
I was much too tired after the festivities to post last night so here we are!
Canada Day started out as a normal day since nothing goes on in the mornings. So Brianna had her schoolwork, Olivia had nap, then we had lunch. THEN it was time to pull out the Canada Day fun! We got dressed in our Canada Day outfits (or just red clothes in mine and Lee's case), tattoos applied (even for Olivia!), hair done up (well, Lee wouldn't let me do his lol) and off we go!
We went down to the park where Brianna saw those big blow up playground things. We said she couldn't go cause the lines were miles long!
Maybe later. We saw Auntie Lisa at her volunteer post in the bingo tent and then went to see some petting zoo animals. Brianna was thrilled to feed them and even saw a pink chicken (her fave!). Olivia wasn't too sure about these big animals but she was keeping a close eye on them!
We went back to the house for Olivia to nap and Brianna went 2 doors down to play with some kids visiting. Lisa and Steph showed up for BBQ and fireworks. After the baby woke up Lee took her for a bit of a walk, when he came back he said the lines at the blow up things we're a lot shorter so he'd take Brianna back. Unfortunately the reason they were so short was because they were about to close :( Poor Brianna
We did up a huge BBQ and sat around chatting waiting for the fireworks. I put Olivia down and she actually went down easy so I figured great! No problems later. WRONG! I went inside to get a drink at 9:30pm and she must have heard me and woke up and started fussing. I sent Lee up to try to get her back down, what does he do? Brings her outside! So Olivia got to see her first fireworks. She was totally enthralled! I figured the loud noise would scare her but no way!
Thankfully once all was done we had no problems putting the girls to bed. I was pooped! I went straight to bed and I think I fell asleep before my head hit the pillow.

Summer Vacation/Homeschool
Brianna's last day of school was Tuesday. So yesterday meant the first day of Summer Homeschooling. It took me forever to write up the curriculum! But, I now have work for her to do everyday (save a couple of days that we're out of town) until school starts again.
So far it's going over pretty good. She loves the money part that I made for her. We have several "homework" books for her to go through as well as the rest of her math text from school. Even by the end of the summer we'll still have homework pages left! I'd like to continue the school work even once school has gone back, probably on the weekends.

Girls Day Out!
No babies or boys allowed!
We went to pick up one of those awesome Ikea kids chairs that are egg shaped and have a closing canopy on them... Brianna loves it! It was supposed to be for her birthday but she had to get it early so I could make sure it was big enough for her!
Next stop was a hair cut! Her first cut in a salon. I finally convinced her to go short. I guess every time I talked about cutting her hair short she was thinking like Lee's hair. Noooooo, a normal girly short hair cut! She's madly in love with her new hair.
Then we went off for some shopping. Brianna got new shoes, toothbrush and toothpaste (she's still at an age where that's exciting lol) and a new skort. We also went out for hot chocolate and donuts.
All in all, a great day! We discussed how when he behaviour is good, we like to do this kind of stuff with her. How if he behaviour was good over the summer, we could do this kind of stuff more often! Hopefully that sinks in!
